Defendant Marquise Cromer, 21, (DOB: 06/19/1995), of Detroit, has been charged in connection with an assault and carjacking. On September 11, 2016, it is alleged that Cromer went to a car wash located in the 1100 block of Conant near Casmere Street and approached a 23-year-old man, demanded his pick-up truck, and then shot the man in the stomach with a sawed off shotgun. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A warrant request for the case was presented today and Cromer has been charged with: one count of Assault with Intent to Murder; Carjacking; Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm; Weapons - Carrying with Unlawful Intent; one count of Possession of a Short Barrel Shot Gun and one count of Felony Firearm. Cromer was arraigned on the charges this afternoon in 36th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 20, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Deborah Langston.
