Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Dalton Roberson Jr., 42 (DOB: 11/08/1972) and his wife Jakeema Roberson, 41 (DOB: 09/17/1973), both of Detroit, with embezzlement from a non-profit or charitable organization. The defendants are alleged to have created and opened bank accounts for several non-existent non-profit organizations between 2012 and 2014 when defendant Dalton Roberson was employed with Michigan Community Resources (MCR) in Detroit. It is further alleged that over $77,000 in funds were diverted from MCR and then placed in the fraudulent accounts.

Both defendants are charged with Embezzlement of more than $1,000 and less than $20,000 from a non-profit or charitable organization, Embezzlement of more than $50,000 but less than $100,000, Conspiracy to commit Embezzlement of more than $1,000 and less than $20,000 from a non-profit or charitable organization and Conspiracy to commit Embezzlement of more than $50,000, but less than $100,000.

The defendants were arraigned before Magistrate Dawn White in 36th District Court. The September 8, 2016 preliminary examination before Judge Kenneth King was waived. Both defendants received a $10,000 personal bond. The Arraignment on the Information is scheduled for September 22, 2016 in Third Circuit Court.
