Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Willie DeQuan Lindsey, 34 (DOB: 3/33/1982), of Detroit, in connection with stabbing a Detroit Department of Transportation bus driver. On November 29, 2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., it is alleged that Lindsey got on a Detroit Department of Transportation bus at McNichols and Greenfield when he is alleged to have demanded to be transported to a local hospital by the 51-year-old male bus driver. When the driver did not take him to the hospital, it is alleged that Lindsey cut the driver’s left cheek with a knife. Passengers on the bus restrained Lindsey until the police arrived and arrested him. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital and was treated for his injuries.

The defendant has been charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and Felonious Assault.* He was arraigned in 36th District Court today at 2:30 p.m. The probable cause conference is scheduled for December 8, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for December 14, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes in 36th District Court.
