Yesterday Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Stuart Horatio Lewis, 49, (DOB: 08/10/1967), of Detroit, in connection with spray painted threats to the police on a building. It is alleged that on October 20, 2016, Lewis spray painted “KILL ALL POLICE” and “KILL JAMES CRAIG” on a commercial building in the 200 block of West State Fair in Detroit. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the October 21, 2016 arrest of Lewis. He was released pending the signing of the warrant and re-arrested on October 24, 2016.

Lewis was charged with Threat of Terrorism, a felony with a penalty of up to 20 years, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, a felony with a penalty of up to four years, and Malicious Destruction of a Building, a misdemeanor with a penalty of 93 days.

The defendant was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate Millicent Sherman. The probable cause conference is scheduled for November 1, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for November 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Langston in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $25,000/10% bond.
