Melvindale Man Charged In Southgate Workplace Homicide
Devon Lamar Hampton, 26, (DOB: 01/20/90) of Melvindale, has been charged with First Degree Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felonious Assault and Felony Firearm. It is alleged that on September 2, 2016 at 11:35 p.m. at a workplace located in the 11800 block of Reeck Road in Southgate, Hampton got into a verbal argument with a male co-worker and took out a gun and fatally shot him in the chest.
Hampton was arraigned on September 4, 2016 in 34th District Court before Magistrate Hindman. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 16, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge James Kandrevas in 28th District Court.
