Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Marquita J. Dupree, 33 (DOB: 7/31/1983), of Detroit, in connection with an abduction of her infant girl that caused an Amber Alert. Ms. Dupree is not allowed to have unsupervised visits with her infant daughter. On Monday, November 15, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m., at a location on Moross in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant arranged to meet with the infant’s foster mother at a pre-scheduled doctor’s appointment at a local hospital, so that Ms. Dupree could visit her infant daughter. After the foster mother removed the child from a car seat, it is alleged that the defendant grabbed the child, refused to give her back and fled from the location. The foster mother immediately called 911 and an Amber Alert was issued. On Tuesday, November 16, 2016, the defendant and the infant were located in a home in the 9100 block of Everts in Detroit. The infant was found unharmed and the defendant was placed in custody.

Dupree has been charged with one count of Kidnapping - Child Enticement* and she was arraigned this afternoon. The probable cause conference is scheduled for November 30, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for December 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Lewis Langston in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $250,000 cash/surety bond.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
