David Didlake - Man charged with lighting his girlfriend’s dog on fire. Today he was arraigned before Judge Gregory Bill and a docket conference will be held on January 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.by Judge Bill’s successor Judge Dana Hathaway.

Evette Walker and Leonard Smith - Parents charged in the burning of their five-year-old girl. Today the preliminary examination was scheduled for January 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. in 30th District Court in Highland Park.

Ypsilanti Man Charged in Inkster Homicide

Today Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Rashad M. Bell, 28 (DOB: 01/30/1988), of Ypsilanti, in connection with the homicide of his first cousin, Joseph Franklin, 26, of Dearborn Heights. On December 17, 2016 at 12:58 a.m. at a club in the 3700 block of Inkster Road, it is alleged that Bell got into a physical altercation with Franklin while playing pool. Franklin left the building and the defendant followed him onto the street. Once on the street, it is alleged that Bell fatally shot Franklin and fled from the location on foot.

Bell has been charged with one count each of the following crimes: First Degree Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Felony Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in 22nd District Court in Inkster this afternoon.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Andre Carter - Defendant is charged in connection with firing shots at police from a porch on Hull Street in Detroit. His preliminary examination was bound over today and he will be arraigned on the information in Wayne County Circuit Court on December 27, 2016. He remains in jail on a one million dollar cash/surety bond.

Fernando DeLon Anderson and Fernando DeLon Anderson - Defendants #1 and #2 on case 16- 004481 were both sentenced to the Michigan Department of Corrections today on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree to two years to ten years, and two years consecutive for Felony Firearm. Judge Dana Hathaway also added that both defendants must have lifetime electronic monitoring, lifetime sex offender registration and no contact with the complaining witness.

Elaina Brown and Kelly Marie Williams - CPS worker and her supervisor charged in connection with the death of three year old Aaron Minor. Their preliminary examination was heard in part and will continue on January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. before 36th District Court Judge Kenneth King.
