Prosecutor Worthy has charged Michael Edward Hearn, 44 (DOB: 02/07/1973), of Farmington Hills, in connection to the discharge of a firearm in a Concealed Pistol License class in Livonia. It is alleged that on April 29, 2017, Hearn was teaching a Concealed Pistol License class during which he pulled his pistol and fired one shot in the direction of the classroom door. The bullet travelled into another classroom, striking a 38-year-old Detroit man.

Mr. Hearn is charged with one count of the misdemeanor Careless, Reckless, or Negligent Use of a Firearm.* He was arraigned in 16th District Court in Livonia today and received a $5,000 personal bond. His probable cause conference is on May 18, 2017 and his preliminary examination is on May 25, 2017, both at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Sean Kavanagh in 16th District Court.

*The charges referred to herein are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
