Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Tarvaris Fane, 22 (DOB: 12/25/1994), of Detroit, in connection with a non-fatal shooting that occurred at a residence on Mark Twain Street in Detroit.

On April 9, 2017 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the victim, 38, of Detroit was in the backyard of a residence in the 14000 block of Mark Twain with some friends. It is alleged that the defendant came outside of the house, an argument ensued, and the defendant pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The victim and a friend left the location. Shortly thereafter the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment on his injuries. Fane was arrested later that evening.

Fane has been charged with Assault With Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder, Felonious Assault - two counts, Felony Firearm - three counts and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.* He was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court. Fane's Probable Cause Hearing is on April 19, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. and his Preliminary Examination is on April 26, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Kenneth King.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
