This week is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This year’s theme is Strength, Resilience, and Justice. Marilyn Robert, Acting Director, Office for Victims of Crime said, “This year’s theme reflects a future in which all victims are strengthened by the response they receive, organizations are resilient to face challenges, and communities are able to seek collective justice and healing. The theme highlights the need for multiple avenues of victim support. It also acknowledges two truths: that justice reaches outside the courtroom, and that the strength and resilience of our communities depend on confidence in our justice system.â€
Each year the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office pauses to celebrate our many achievements: the expanded inclusion of victims in the criminal justice system, increasingly visible services, and recognizing rights for all victims and survivors.
On April 6, 2017 at noon there will be a balloon release in front of Frank Murphy Hall of Justice to honor victims and survivors.
