Jayru Campbell - Cass Tech student charged in connection with the assault of a school security officer. Campbell was arraigned today before Magistrate Millicent Sherman with a bond set at $5,000/10% cash or surety. The preliminary examination will be held on February 24, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. The court has ordered that Campbell have no contact with the complainant.

Timothy Joseph Kane and Dorreca Marvie Brewer - Defendants alleged to have participated in a fraudulent scheme to steal money from an Archdiocease of Detroit charity fun. The preliminary examination has been scheduled for February 24, 2014 in 36th District Court.

Chauncey Owens and Charles Jones - Charged in the fatal shooting death of Ja'rean Blake. Charles Jones was found guilty by a jury of Second Degree Murder and Perjury. Jones was found not guilty of Felon in Possession and Felony Firearm. Jones will be sentenced before Judge Skutt on March 13, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Chauncey Owens was found guilty as charged by a jury of First Degree Murder, Felon In Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. He will be sentenced on March 14, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Sanford McQueen & Karen Geletzke - Charged in connection with the January 23, 2014 infant death. It is alleged that while in the defendants care the child died due to injuries sustained when his stroller was left near a space heater. There will be a bond hearing tomorrow, February 14, 2014 before Judge Baltimore. The purpose of the hearing is to address bond only. The preliminary examination is scheduled for March 19, 2014.

William Rice and Cheryl Sanford - Former DPD Lieutenant and co-defendant were sentenced today before Judge Gregory Bill. William Rice received 2-20 years on the Conducting - Criminal Enterprise (CCE) case to be served concurrently with 2-20 years on both counts of his Perjury case. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $100,196 to Taylor Housing Commission, Michigan Housing and Development Authority (MSHDA) on the CCE case.

Cheryl Sanford was sentenced to five years probation, the first year to be spent in the Wayne County Jail on the CCE case. No early release, no work release. $100,196 in restitution to be paid to Taylor Housing Commission, Michigan Housing and Development Authority (MSHDA). Restitution for both defendants was Joint and Severable. Both defendants were taken into custody today.

Horace Sheffield - He has been charged in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife that occurred in their home in the 19000 block of Warrington on January 10, 2014 with the misdemeanors: Domestic Violence Assault and Battery and Preventing a Crime Report. We were not informed in advance that he was to be arraigned today. Our most recent information that has been received from the Detroit Police Department Domestic Violence Unit is that Sheffield turned himself in at 6 a.m. this morning and was bonded out at 11:30 a.m. after his arraignment. He was given a $7,500 personal bond. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for February 21, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Ruth Carter.

Maryanne Godboldo - Mother charged in connection with a police stand-off over her daughter that occurred in March, 2011. The Michigan Court of Appeals remanded her case back to 36th District Court Judge Ronald Giles for a decision on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. The date was changed from February 13, 2014 at the request of the defense.
