GROSSE POINTE PARK MAN CHARGED WITH FIREBOMBING

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Charles Patterson Kay, 20 (DOB 7/22/92), of Grosse Pointe Park, in connection with the firebombing of a home owned by a member of the VanElslander family located in the 700 block of Whittier in Grosse Pointe Park.

On May 17, 2013, at 3:23 a.m., it is alleged that Kay threw a Molotov cocktail at the home, which caused fire damage to the home. The police were called to the scene and their investigation led to the arrested of Kay. The facts of the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

Kay has been charged with Arson Second Degree (20 years), Sending Explosive with Intent Causing Damage (20 years), and Possession of a Molotov Cocktail (four years).

Kay was arraigned today and was given a $35,000 cash or surety bond with a tether. His preliminary examination is scheduled for May 29, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Myron Tyronne Williams, 42 (DOB 8/11/1970), of Grosse Pointe Park, with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Delivery of Marijuana. He was arraigned today before Judge Carl F. Jarboe in Grosse Pointe Park Municipal Court and received a $250,000 cash/surety bond. The details of the case will be released in court during the preliminary examination scheduled for May 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

Grosse Pointe Park Wayburn Street Homicide - The case remains under investigation.
