Jayru Campbell - Charged in connection with an alleged assault on his girlfriend that occurred at Cass Tech High School. On Friday, October 3, 2014 he will have his preliminary examination before Judge Ruth Carter at 421 Madison Avenue Courtroom 338 at 9:00 a.m.

We have not received a warrant request for assault allegations that occurred in the Wayne County jail for Mr. Campbell at this time.

Joseph Weekley - Detroit Police Officer charged in connection with the fatal shooting death of Aiyana Stanley-Jones in her home during a DPD police raid. Today Judge Cynthia Hathaway granted the defense motion to dismiss the Involuntary Manslaughter charge. The charge of Careless Discharge Causing Injury or Death remains before the jury. The prosecution has requested a stay to appeal the ruling that was granted by the court today. Because the jury trial is in progress, no further comment will be made about the matter. The judge has instructed the jury to return to court on Monday, October 6, 2014.

Robert Bashara - Grosse Pointe Park man accused of killing his wife Jane Bashara. The trial was adjourned by Judge Vonda Evans today until Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Jayru Campbell - Charged in connection with an alleged assault on his girlfriend that occurred at Cass Tech High School. On Friday, October 3, 2014, his preliminary examination was held in part before Judge Ruth Carter at 421 Madison Avenue Courtroom 338 and will continue on October 8, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Today a count of Unauthorized Use of a Computer Device was added to the original charges listed on page 5 of the Weekly Case Updates. We have not received a warrant request for assault allegations that occurred in the Wayne County Jail for Mr. Campbell at this time.
