Detroit Man Charged in School Bus Driver Assault and Robbery

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Reshawn Clark, also known as Reshaun Clark, 29 (DOB:11/23/1989), of Detroit in connection with the assault and unarmed robbery of a 63-year-old Grand Blanc man who was driving a school bus with children inside.

On January 25, 2019, at 3:23 p.m. the bus driver was at Asbury Park and Diversey when it is alleged the defendant and another man got on the bus, beat the driver, took his personal property and fled on foot. The investigation regarding the other man remains open.

On February 1, 2019 the defendant was taken into custody. He has been charged with Unarmed Robbery, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, Larceny from a Person.*

Clark was arraigned and received a $50,000 cash/surety bond on the afternoon of February 4, 2019 in 36th District Court. His Probable Cause Conference is on February 12, 2019 and his Preliminary Examination is on February 19, 2019, both before Judge Ronald Giles.

Johnny Thomas - DPD Third Precinct Commander charged with misdemeanors in connection with an alcohol related car incident. Today Judge Kenneth King adjourned the pre-trial conference until February 13, 2019 because the attorney for Cmdr. Thomas had a scheduling conflict.

Derrick Devon Durham - Defendant charged in connection with the January 24, 2019 fatal shooting of three-year-old Christian Miller on the Southfield Freeway in Detroit. The Probable Cause Conference was held today and the Preliminary Examination will be held on February 13, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Ronald Giles.

Virgil Smith - Former state senator who charged in connection with a shooting incident involving his ex-wife. The Final Conference has been adjourned by Judge Lawrence Talon until February 8, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

Detroit Man Charged in Sexual Assault of 11-Year-Old Girl

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Darrell Lee Harris, 50 (DOB: 11/27/1968), of Detroit, in connection with the criminal sexual assault of a girl under the age of 13. The victim is the daughter of Harris's ex-girlfriend.

It is alleged that the defendant raped the 11-year-old victim on two separate occasions in July and August 2018, at a location in the 5500 block of Coplin in Detroit. On December 1, 2018, the victim's mother uncovered evidence of the defendant's alleged sexually abusive behavior and reported it to the police. Further evidence in the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

On February 5, 2019 Harris was charged with two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct - Under 13.* On February 6, 2019 he was taken into custody by the Detroit Police Department.

Today Harris was arraigned before Magistrate Millicent Sherman in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for February 20, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for February 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge William McConico in 36th District Court. Warren Man Charged with Breaking Into DPD Mounted Unit Building

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Archie Howell, 52 (DOB: 11/15/1966), of Warren, has been charged in connection with breaking and entering into the Detroit Mounted Police Unit building.

On February 7, 2019 at approximately 1:25 p.m., at the Mounted Police Unit located in the 900 block of Merrill Plaisance, it is alleged that Howell was attempting to push the front gate of the property open. A Detroit police officer observed the male suspect stretch the chain on the gate, allowing Howell to squeeze through the opening. Once inside the secured yard, it is alleged that Howell opened a window and was going inside the building when the officer observed him and ordered him to come out of the window. Howell attempted to flee on foot. When the officer apprehended Howell, he resisted arrest but was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody. Another male suspect with Howell, who was acting as a look out, fled from the scene and was not apprehended.

Howell has been charged with Breaking and Entering a Building and Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer.* He is expected to be arraigned this afternoon at 2:30 in 36th District Court. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
