Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged bus driver Patrick Brennan, 63, of Lincoln Park, with two misdemeanors charges, Child Abuse Fourth Degree (one-year or probation for up to five years), and Assault and Battery (93 Days).

On January 19, 2016 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Brennan was transporting Allendale Elementary School children on a school bus when a group of children began yelling and misbehaving. The Melvindale police officers were dispatched to the child's home at approximately 4:15 p.m. and they observed a laceration above her left eye and blood on her scarf. Her injury was treated at home. Investigation of the incident led the police to the arrest of bus driver on the same day.

The defendant was arraigned this afternoon before Judge John Courtright in 24th District Court in Allen Park and he received a $5,000/10% bond. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for February 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
