Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Car Crash
On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Antonio Banks, 30 (DOB: 07/26/1986), of Detroit, in connection with a fatal car crash that killed a father and his 10-year-old daughter. On May 14, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m., it is alleged that Banks was driving his car at a high rate of speed, while intoxicated, at Linwood and Glendale in Detroit. He had a male in the front passenger seat. Banks is further alleged to have crashed his car into the car of George Noble, 53, of Detroit, with his ten-year-old daughters in the rear passenger seat and female in the front passenger seat. They were stopped at the traffic signal at Linwood and Glendale. Banks’s car then struck another car, driven by a male, with a female in the front passenger seat, travelling southbound on Linwood. The impact caused him to roll his car over. All of the parties were conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. Mr. Noble and his ten-year-old daughter died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Banks is charged with two counts each of the following charges: Second Degree Murder, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury, Reckless Driving Causing Impairment of Body Function.* Due to the serious injuries sustained by the defendant he could not be arraigned on the day the charges were issued. Banks was arraigned in the in the hospital and remains there under police custody. His probable cause conference will be held on May 30, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. and his preliminary examination will be held on June 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.

Detroit Man Charged with Shooting at Detroit Police Officers on Jefferson Avenue and Dubois Street in Detroit
Today Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Ivory Traylor, 30 (DOB: 12/14/1986), of Detroit, in connection with opening fire on two Detroit police officers and resisting arrest. On May 17, 2017 at approximately 10:53 a.m., two Detroit police officers received a complaint about Traylor being disruptive at a hotel located in the 1900 block of Jefferson. When the police arrived and attempted to investigate, Traylor fled on foot and the two officers gave chase. At Jefferson Avenue and Dubois Street, it is alleged that Traylor produced a handgun and opened fire on the officers, firing multiple times. The officers returned fire, striking the defendant several times. Once he was wounded, the officers disarmed and arrested him. Traylor sustained several leg wounds and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Traylor has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, three counts of Resisting and Obstructing, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and one count of Felony Firearm - Second Degree.* Arrangements were made for Traylor to be arraigned in the hospital while in police custody today. His probable cause conference is on May 30, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. and his preliminary examination is scheduled for June 6, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Traylor is being held on a $3 million cash bond.
