Two Detroit Men Charged in Eastside Park Fatal Shooting

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Terrell Demarco Reese, 22 (DOB: 06/15/1996) and Terrell Kenneth Green, 21 (DOB: 06/09/1997), both of Detroit in connection with the fatal shooting of Armani Keith Vanburen, 19, of Detroit.

On July 14, 2018, at approximately 8:17 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to Josefiak Playlot, located at Greiner Street and Fairport Street in Detroit, in response to call a regarding a body in the park. Upon arrival, the officers observed EMTs at the location, who pronounced the victim dead at the scene. It is alleged that the defendants fatally shot the victim shot multiple times. Investigation by Detroit police officers led to the arrest of the defendants.

Reese and Greed have been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder and Felony Firearm.* The defendants were arraigned in 36th District Court. Defendant Reese's probable cause conference is scheduled for August 17, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for August 24, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Lydia Nance-Adams in 36th District Court. Defendant Green's probable cause conference is scheduled for August 15, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for August 22, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. The hearings are also before Judge Lydia Nance Adams in 36th District Court. Both defendants were remanded to jail.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
