Detroit Dad Charged in Infant Homicide

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dominique Jones-Hardy, 31, (DOB: 10/01/1986), of Detroit in connection with the homicide of his eight-month-old infant son. On Thursday, December 13, 2017, the Defendant was charged with Child Abuse First Degree and Child Abuse Second Degree, and arraigned on Friday December 15, 2017, receiving a $500,000 cash bond. He is currently in the Wayne County Jail. On December 11, 2017 at Jones-Hardy's home in the 11600 block of Laing it is alleged that he abused his eight month old boy causing a severe head injury. The child was taken to a local hospital on December 12th for treatment and died on December 14, 2017.

On December 16, 2017, the warrant was amended by adding a charge of Felony Murder, Second Degree Murder to the original child abuse charges.* Jones-Hardy will be arraigned on the new charges at his Probable Cause Conference in 36th District Court on December 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
