Six Detroit Defendants Charged in Marijuana Bust

On May 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at a location in the 4400 block of West Jefferson, Detroit Police Officers executed a search warrant that led to the seizure of over 1000 marijuana plants connected to a major marijuana operation. Six people were arrested at the scene for their alleged involvement with the operation: Cotea Jones, 53, (DOB:06/29/1964), Jeanne Walsh, 37, (DOB:05/09/1981), Curtis Williams, 36, (DOB:12/12/1981), Travis Davison, 27, (DOB:06/26/1990), James Frazier, 32, (DOB:05/29/1986) and Jabari Currie, 31, (DOB:03/04/1987), all of Detroit. This case remains under investigation; no further facts will be provided at this time.

Today all of the defendants have been charged with - Controlled Substance - Delivery/Manufacture of 45 Kilograms or More of Marijuana/Synthetic Equivalent; or 200 or More Plants, a felony with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.*

Defendants Jones, Williams, Davison and Frazier have additionally been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manufacture 45 Kilograms or More of Marijuana/Synthetic Equivalent; or 200 or More Plants, a felony with a 15 year maximum penalty.*

They were arraigned this morning in 36th District Court. All of the defendants received $15,000 personal bonds. They will have their Probable Cause Conference on June 11, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. and their Preliminary Examination ion June 18, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
