Detroit Man Charged in Dearborn Fatal Shooting

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Allen Michael Sherrill, 27, (DOB: 09/25/1991), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Junika Hardy, 28, of Livonia, MI.

On March 1, 2019, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Dearborn police officers responded to a 911 dispatch regarding a fatal shooting at a location in the 17600 block of Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. Upon arrival, officers found Defendant Sherrill standing outside of the vehicle and observed the victim's lifeless body on the ground, near the driver's door of the vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is alleged that, while riding as a passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle, Sherrill fatally shot the victim. Further information will be made available at the preliminary examination.

Sherrill has been charged with First Degree Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm.* He was arraigned this afternoon in 19th District Court in Dearborn, MI. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. before 19th District Court Judge Salamey. Sherrill was remanded to jail.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
