Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Demaro Devone Horne, 23 (DOB: 05/20/1993), of Southgate, in connection with a triple homicide on Rutherford Street in Detroit.

It is alleged that on March 18, 2017 at approximately 6:10 a.m., Detroit Police officers were dispatched to the 16600 block of Rutherford in response to a 911 call for assistance. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an injured 27-year-old male in front of the residence. EMS was called and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is further alleged that upon the officers’ entry into the location, the officers found a 60-year-old male, a 43-year-old female, and a 23-year-old male deceased in the home. A 25-year-old female, who did not appear to sustain a physical injury, was also found in the residence. All of the people in the Rutherford home were Detroit residents.

Horne has been charged with three counts of Open Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Home Invasion First Degree, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and one count of Felony Firearm*.

Horne was arraigned at 2:30 this afternoon before Magistrate Dawn M. White. The probable cause conference is scheduled for March 28, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
