Detroit Man Charged in Homicide of Woman Reported Missing in 2020
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Keyvonte Deshawn Clark, 31, of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Jessica Bedford, 34, also of Detroit. Ms. Bedford was reported missing by her mother on May 30, 2020. The victim's body has not been located.
It is alleged that in May 2020, at the defendant's home in the 12000 block of Cloverlawn Street in Detroit, Defendant Clark fatally shot Ms. Bedford and disposed of her lifeless body at another location. Investigation by the Michigan State Police led to the arrest of Defendant Clark on April 16, 2025. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record at the preliminary examination.
Keyvonte Deshawn Clark has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Mutilation of a Dead Body, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Firearm.*

Clark was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate William Burton. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 29, 2025, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Patricia Jefferson. The case will be prosecuted by Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Michigan State Police.
