Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Chighland Tyrell Tucker, 30 (DOB: 5/01/86) of Detroit, in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 27-year-old Mount Pleasant woman. The victim and the defendant have a child in common.
On October 14, 2016 at 8:45 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant came to the driveway of the victimâ€™s motherâ€™s home located in the 12000 block of Rosemont. He walked up the victim while she was waiting outside in her car, pulled out a handgun and shot her multiple times. Police and medics responded to the scene and the victim was taken to a local hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. Earlier in the day it is alleged that Tucker came to the Rosemont house and the victimâ€™s mother asked him to leave.
The defendant has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Felonious Assault, Aggravated Stalking, Felony Firearm Second Offense, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. Defendant Tucker was arraigned today in 36th District Court before Magistrate Laura Echartea. The probable cause conference is scheduled for October 24, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for October 31, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Patricia Jefferson in 36th District Court.
